Mahakumbh Nagar, 21 February (IANS). On the one hand in the Mahakumbh, crores of devotees of the country and the world are considering themselves blessed by bathing in the holy water of Triveni Sangam, while a recent Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) report raised doubts in the minds of the people. Is. Eminent scientists are reacting to the report on the bath in Ganga water, calling it incomplete on the one hand, on the other hand, they are suspected of incorrectly broadcast of parts of the report.
Scientists said that elements like nitrate and phosphate are not mentioned in the report, which makes it incomplete. In such a situation, it would not be right to question the quality of Ganga water on the basis of this report only. Scientists have described the water of the confluence as a bathable.
Dr. Amit Kumar Mishra, Assistant Professor of Environmental Science School, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi, Umesh Kumar Singh, Professor of Environmental Science Center, Allahabad University, Uttar Pradesh and R.K. Ranjan said in one voice on Friday that Ganga water is alkaline on the basis of the current report, which is a sign of healthy water body. It will be considered as a bathable bathable oxygen in water.
On the report of contamination of featured coliform bacteria in Prayagraj’s water, Dr. Amit Kumar Mishra said that we need more data. A large number of people are bathing in Mahakumbh. If you talk about coliform bacteria, then it is not new.
According to him, if you look at the extreme data of the nectar bath, then you will find that E. Koli bacteria occurs at the peak at that time. I would say that we need more data sets. We need more parameters and more monitoring stations, especially under the stream. For the purpose of bathing, three micrograms per liter is safe and we can say that water is good for bathing. If you look at the change in the data of Sangam Ghat, then you will find that it is fluctuating around three. Sometimes, it becomes 4 or 4.5. I would say that the level of dissolved oxygen that we see is a sign of a very healthy water body. If you look at the pH range, they are all alkaline water, which will be considered good.
Pro. Umesh Kumar Singh said that a few days ago the CPCB prepared a report, which has said the increased levels of the fertilizer (bacteria) in the water. I believe that CPCB needs to work more on the report, as they do not have complete data. According to him, the level of nitrate and phosphate is missing in the report. At the same time, as shown in the report, the level of oxygen dissolved in the water is good. As such, depending on the current data, it can be said that the water of Triveni Sangam is suitable for bathing.
Associate Professor R.K. Ranjan said that there is a lot of difference in the data of the Central Pollution Control Board. The conclusion that the water is insecure to bathe, hurry. Prayagraj’s water is not safe for bathing, it is not enough data to conclude. The same claim has been made about Garhmukteshwar, Ghazipur, Buxar and Patna. According to him, there can be many reasons for this happening. One reason behind this is that a large number of people take bath in the same water. It also matters where and when the water sample is taken.
