Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA’s Chief Minister’s Line of Delhi to discuss the promise of giving a monthly assistance of Rs 2,500 monthly to women made by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during the assembly election campaign Have sought time for a meeting with Gupta.
Atishi on Saturday in a letter to Gupta questioned why the plan to provide financial assistance to women was not approved in the first cabinet meeting of the new government, while the Prime Minister promised it at an election rally.
The BJP defeated ‘AAP’ in the assembly elections held earlier this month, after which Gupta and his Council of Ministers took oath of office on Thursday.
‘AAP’ won 22 seats in the election. Atishi’s Kalkaji seat is also one of them. BJP won 48 seats in Delhi’s 70 -member assembly.
Atishi, who was the Chief Minister in the previous’ AAP government, has sought time to meet the Chief Minister with her party MLAs on 23 February.
Atishi said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised Delhi’s mothers and sisters at an election rally in Dwarka on 31 January that a scheme of Rs 2,500 monthly payment would be passed in the first cabinet meeting after the BJP government was formed.” ‘
He said that the first cabinet meeting of the BJP government was held on 20 February, but the plan was not passed. He said that the women of Delhi who believed in “Modi’s guarantee” are feeling “cheated”.
BJP leaders, including Chief Minister Gupta, have said that the plan will be implemented from March as the promise made by the party.
