In such a situation, now PM Narendra Modi has taken the initiative to make the countrymen aware against obesity. PM Modi on Sunday also expressed concern over obesity in his monthly program Mann Ki Baat. To make people aware against obesity, PM Modi has now formed a team of 10 well -known people. PM Modi has asked his team to add 10-10 people and in this way a chain should be made a public awareness campaign to make the countrymen aware against obesity.

In the team that PM Modi has formed in the campaign against obesity, Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra, Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah, Bhojpuri actor and MP Dinesh Lal Yadav alias Nirhua, Olympic medalist shooter Manu Bhakar, Weightlifter Meerabai Chanu, South Mohanlal, a superstar of the films of K. actor R.K. Madhavan, singer Shreya Ghoshal, the wife of Nandan Nilekani, co-founder of Infosys and NR Narayan Murthy, the founder of Infosys and Rajya Sabha MP Sudha Murthy have been kept. PM Modi had said in Mann Ki Baat that the problem of obesity in children has increased 4 times. He had said that 1 out of every 8 people are struggling with obesity.
PM Modi also gave WHO data in Mann Ki Baat. According to these figures, 2.5 billion people in the world are obese in 2022. PM Modi had said that if people reduce the consumption of food oil by 10 percent, then the problem of obesity can be overcome. In Mann Ki Baat, PM Modi had said that people can avoid diseases like heart disease, stress and sugar by changing their way of cooking their food. PM Modi also shared Olympic medalist Neeraj Chopra and boxer Nikhat Zarine’s fitness mantra in Mann Ki Baat. Modi had urged all the countrymen to join the campaign against obesity and create a healthy India.
