CBRI will survey houses
Actually, despite the dangers, the population in Nainital city is increasing. The city is full of a large number of tourists and construction of large number of buildings is also going on. According to media reports, CBRI i.e. Central Building Research Institute has come forward in the matter and is assessing whether the city of Nainital will be able to bear the tremors of earthquake. Information has been revealed in media reports that CBRI has decided to survey 1 thousand houses prepared without planning in Nainital. Under this, it will be investigated whether the houses located in the city are safe for earthquakes. Under the investigation, a study report of rescue and caring capacity will be prepared.
Landslides and new cracks were revealed
According to reports, landslides have come to light in several areas including Tiffinatop, China Pick, Charinlaws, Snowvoo in Nainital city. Along with this, new cracks have also started coming up in many areas. Earlier in the year 2009 too, many experts prepared a report of Caring Capacity of Nainital and sent it to the government. It is believed that the government is preparing to take steps to implement the suggestions of geologists and common people to save Nainital.
Mice also created terror
Rats have also created terror amid the danger of landslide in the hills of Nainital. Rats have hollowed out the walls of thousands of houses and commercial establishments in the city, security walls, etc. Due to this, drains are getting choke and it is proving to be a challenge for the scavengers to remove the debris. The District Magistrate of Nainital has also demanded a report by examining the matter. According to media reports, mice have also hollowed out the security walls of mall road and other roads near the lake. If the soil of the walls comes out, it increases the risk of cracks and landlords in the houses.
Mountains are sinking in 3 km
Recently, Joshimath, Uttarakhand, scared incidents of landworks came to light. Now a similar case is being seen in Khupi village, 8 kilometers from Nainital. People are leaving their homes for fear of something untoward here. According to local people, incidents of landlords had started coming up in Khupi village since 2012. The mountains are sinking in an area of about 3 kilometers in the village. According to media reports, cracks are coming in 19 houses in the village every year. The administration team has also recently inspected the village of Khupi.
Landslide in Chararte Lodge Area also
Apart from all this, there are incidents of landslides once again in the Chartan Lodge area of Nainital. Media reports have reported that dozens of houses located nearby, including 18 families in the area, are under threat. So far 3 families have left home here. A warning has also been issued for the rest of the family. The SDM of Nainital has said that the administration has surveyed Khupi village, many houses are getting cracks. Landslides are also being monitored in the Chartan Lodge area.
Nainital in danger
According to the information, the main boundary thrust connects the Small Himalayas and Bahya Himalayas (Shivalik) range from Khupi village of Nainital passes. According to media reports, this boundary works to compress the Himalayas, due to which the land starts to rise and cracks, landslides are being seen. Experts say that not only the Khupi village but the entire city of Nainital is in danger. According to media reports, recently two days ago, the topin has fallen from top landslide. Apart from this, Naina Peak Mountains are also breaking.
