Shankho Chaudhary (English- Sankho Chaudhuri, born 25 February, 1916; death- 28 August 2006) was an Indian sculptor, who was a famous person in the art land of India. Although his real name was ‘Nar Narayan Saha’, he was widely known than his domestic name ‘Shankho’. Shankho Chaudhary studied with the famous sculptor Ramkinkar Badge, from whom he met in Paris. The subjects of the sculpture of conch shells Chaudhary include female figure and wildlife. He worked in a wide range of media. You used wood, metal, terracotta, stone (black and white marble). Introduction
Shankho Chaudhary was born on 25 February 1916 in Santhal Pargana, Bihar. You were a disciple of Ramkinkar Beige. In 1939, the title of Sthalak was received from Shanti Niketan. In 1945, he received a diploma in Fine Arts from Kalabhavan Shanti Niketan. Metal washing was studied with Nepal method. From 1949 to 1970, he was the Chairman of the Murti Arts Department of Baroda University.
Toilet sculpture
This sculpture is made of stone 36 × 30 × 66.5 cm. In this sculpture, female shapes are presented in a simplified form in the sitting posture, two hands are placed behind the head, it displays the spaces through spaces.
