New Delhi. After presenting the CAG report related to the Delhi liquor policy scam in the assembly, it will now be sent to the Public Accounts Committee (PAC). A 12 -member PAC will be set up to consider the CAG report. The PAC will also include members of the opposition Aam Aadmi Party along with the ruling BJP. After investigating the CAG report, the PAC will submit its report to Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta. PAC can also summon AAP convenor and former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia.
The PAC will recommend action against the accused involved in the scam based on the investigation of the CAG report. Let us tell you that Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia had to go to jail in the liquor policy scam case itself. Both are currently out on bail. AAP MP Sanjay Singh, BRS Legislative Council member K.K. Many other people, including Kavita, were also arrested by the ED in the matter. However, all the people who were arrested in the past have now got bail. Now after the formation of the BJP government in Delhi, this case has once again caught fire and the difficulty of the accused may increase.
Let us tell you that according to the CAG report presented in the Delhi Assembly, Delhi has suffered a loss of Rs 2,026.91 crore due to the new liquor policy brought by the Aam Aadmi Party government in 2021-2022. Tomorrow, due to Mahashivaratri, the action of the assembly will be postponed, so this report will now be discussed on Thursday. Significantly, a committee of selected members of the House is formed for the government’s revenue and expenditure audit called PAC. The PAC can be formed for both Parliament and the Legislative Assembly of the States.
