New Delhi, 26 February (IANS). In the last two years in India, there has been a great increase of 69 percent of the number of employees in the institutional investor sector. This information was given in a recent report.
India’s market capitalization has registered an increase over the last decade, which has increased from $ 1.2 trillion to $ 5.2 trillion. This growth has promoted expansion in the institutional investor sector.
Investor presents Insight in major areas such as CIEL HR Services report based on more than 16,000 officers of 80 companies in the sector, tenure in firm, role in demand and progress of career.
It showed that 83 percent of professionals, including fund manager, portfolio manager and senior analysts, were externally appointed, while only 17 percent were promoted from within organizations.
It presents an opportunity for companies in the region to innovate its practice around the inner career progress and improve its work environment, which promotes their talents.
The sector has progressed in the workforce diversity, with 27 percent of women participation in overall workforce. However, representation in leadership roles remains a challenge, in which women have only 14 percent of senior positions.
CIEL HR Executive Director and Chairman K.K. Pandiyarajan said, “India is a proof of its growing market size and rapid change in its financial scenario in the direction of becoming a $ 7 trillion economy by 2030. India’s institutional investor sector is at the forefront of this development with the expected growth rate of 6.1 percent in the next five years and the position of becoming the third largest economy in the world by 2027 in the next five years.”
He added, “There is a revolutionary change in the region, in which both already established players and new entry are advancing innovation in investment strategies and financial products. This dynamic growth indicates a significant time for institutional investors to take advantage of India and global emerging opportunities.”
In addition, the report has shown that about 25 percent of the workforce in the field of institutional investors has changed the job in the previous year, which emphasizes the dynamic and competitive nature of the industry.
