Ranchi, 28 February (IANS). Former Jharkhand Chief Minister and State BJP President Babulal Marandi has said that the CAG report on various schemes of the state has revealed the financial mismanagement, robbery and corruption story of the government.
He said that the last five -year term of this government has been full of failures. He demanded the state government to issue a white paper on its work so far.
State BJP President Babulal Marandi, citing the CAG audit report, said that by March 2022, 2,210 posts of 3,634 sanctioned posts of medical officers and experts remained vacant, which is 6 percent of the total requirement. The audit has revealed a huge shortage of medical officers, staff nurses and paramedics in government hospitals in Jharkhand. In addition, a severe shortage of essential drugs was also detected. Between 2020-21 and 2021-22, there was a shortage of essential medicines in community health centers, district hospitals and medical colleges from 65 percent to 95 percent.
He said that the most embarrassing situation was about Kovid management. The CAG has found that the Government of India had discharged Rs 483.54 crore for Kovid management, against this amount, the Jharkhand government had to release its share of 272.88 crores. The state government released 291.87 crore of central amount and 145.10 crore of the state against the total provision 756.42, ie only 436.97 crore. This was just 32 percent of the total released amount.
Referring to the report, the BJP leader further said that due to non-use of the amount of Kovid-19 management fund, RTPCR laboratories at the district level, pre-constructed structures in CHC, PHC, HSC in Ranchi, and liquid medical oxygen plants could not be set up. District laboratories were not established during the Kovid period, due to which the District Magistrates were forced to send the collected samples to other districts.
Describing the usefulness certificate of 19,125 crore as a serious matter, Marandi said that the possibility of corruption cannot be ruled out by this.
