Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday congratulated the people on the occasion of National Science Day and called for taking advantage of science for the creation of a developed India.
He said, best wishes to obsessive people of science, especially our young innovators on National Science Day. Let us make science and innovation popular and take advantage of science for the creation of developed India.
He also mentioned the monthly radio program Mann Ki Baat aired from All India Radio in which he called upon the youth to spend a day as a scientist along with participating in scientific activities.
National Science Day (NSD) is celebrated every year on 28 February to commemorate the discovery of ‘Raman effect’. The Government of India announced to celebrate 28 February on 28 February as National Science Day (NSD). On the same day, Sir CV Raman announced the discovery of ‘Raman effect’, for which he was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1930.
