New Delhi. The All India Muslim Personal Law Board i.e. AIMPLB is going to take to the streets against the Waqf Amendment Bill. The All India Muslim Personal Law Board has announced that on March 10, it will protest all places in the country including Jantar Mantar in Delhi. Muslim Personal Law Board spokesperson SQR Ilyas has also invited opposition parties and people of civil society to participate in these demonstrations against the Waqf Amendment Bill. The All India Muslim Personal Law Board says that by protesting, the Central Government will be pressurized to withdraw the Waqf Amendment Bill.
SQR Ilyas of All India Muslim Personal Law Board said that Muslim organizations also protested against the Central Government and JPC against the Waqf Amendment Bill. A spokesman for the Muslim Personal Law Board alleged that through the Waqf Amendment Bill, the government is plotting to grab and destroy Waqf properties. He also said that now the government is going to introduce the Waqf Amendment Bill in Parliament. In such a situation, a peaceful dharna will be given to make the public aware and protest. In addition to Dalits, Adivasis, OBC society leaders, Sikh and Christian leaders will also be present in the dharna against the Waqf Amendment Bill. The All India Muslim Personal Law Board has announced that the protest will continue until the government takes back the Waqf Amendment Bill.
Recently, it was reported that the Union Cabinet headed by PM Narendra Modi has approved the Waqf Amendment Bill. The bill can be introduced during the Parliament session starting from 10 March. The Modi government brought the Waqf Amendment Bill in August 2024. After which it was sent to JPC for detailed discussion. JPC made 14 proposals in the Waqf Amendment Bill. All these belonged to NDA MPs. At the same time, the opposition alleges that JPC did not accept its amendments. During the discussion on the Waqf Amendment Bill, JPC also stimulated several times.
