New Delhi, 2 March (IANS). Professor Jonathan Fleming, Senior Lecturer of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Slone School of Management in the US, recently said that India is using technology for women empowerment, which is inspiring not only for women in rural areas of the country but also for women of other countries. He said that other women can also learn from this concept.
Talking to Namo Drone Didis at the ICAR Pusa Campus in New Delhi, she appreciated the efforts and achievements of the government in women’s empowerment.
Professor Flaming was affected by the use of the latest technology in India with the methods and benefits of training women.
Drone Didis informed the visiting professor about the government’s efforts to enable them to use drone technology and provide financial assistance to become drones to become drones.
Talking to Professor Fleming, the Didis reported that using drones is helping them to spray fertilizer and pesticides in dense crops, especially in areas where manual spraying has been a major challenge.
He said that he feels proud when he is called drone diyan, as well as this has greatly improved his financial situation.
Jonathan also visited IRAI’s drone robotic and machine learning center, where he saw the different types of drones developed by the institute and learned how the use of technology is bringing a change in traditional farming.
Dr. Ravi Sahu, Principal Scientist of IRAI’s Agricultural Physics Division, informed the professor about India’s drone journey and explained how India is integrating indigenous knowledge and modern technology to improve the backbone ‘agriculture sector’ of its economy and social system.
Professor Jonathan found this technological development very interesting and said that India is not only changing the current agricultural system, but also investing in future.
The professor said that 100 percent of the drone incentive scheme in the US is male, while in India this situation is completely opposite because all the beneficiaries are women. Which is an excellent example of how India is using technology for the empowerment of women.
