Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar said on Sunday that the country has seen rapid economic progress in the last decade and during this time it has become the fastest growing global economy.
The Vice President gave this statement giving the fourth P. Parameswaran memorial lecture organized by the Indian Vichar Center.
Dhankhar said that when he was an MP in 1989 and in 1991, when he was the Union Minister, “the atmosphere did not inspire us.”
He said, “Now our India is full of positivity and possibilities. It is full of hope and aspirations. All around and omnipresent, we can see a ecosystem of hope and possibilities. In the last decade, in the last decade, India has seen rapid economic progress.”
He further said that the country is the fifth largest global economy and “very soon 4 trillions are on the way to become a US dollar economy”.
“India is the fastest growing global economy in the last decade with an average increase of 8 percent,” he said.
