Israeli Army in South Lebanon.
Berut: Lebanon and Saudi Arabia have appealed to Israel to remove their army from Southern Lebanon. Lebanese President Joseph Aun concluded his visit to Saudi Arabia on Tuesday and during this time he discussed regional matters with Saudi Arabia’s crown prince Mohammed bin Salman.
After the meeting of Joseph Aun and Salman, the two countries said that Israeli soldiers should withdraw from the southern Lebanon and only the Lebanese state should have weapons. This journey of Joseph Aun is the first visit to a Lebanese President in the last eight years to Saudi Arabia. It is believed that this journey will improve the relationship between the two countries. His relationship with Saudi Arabia was cold due to Iran’s influence in Lebanon.
Lebanon and Saudi Arabia are trying to improve their relationship
Aun had visited Saudi Arabia several times as a military commander. Many people in Lebanon hope that their visit will help in lifting the ban on exports from the country and will also allow Saudi citizens to travel to Lebanon. According to the government Saudi press agency, on Monday night, Saudi’s Yuvraj Mohammed bin Salman welcomed Aun at Yamama Palace in the capital Riyadh. During this time he discussed the status of Lebanon and promoting relations between the two countries. (AP)
