Yesterday, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand received snowfall and rain.
In some places hail also fell, which affected normal life in all three states, while light clouds also remained in Delhi-NCR. Several states including the capital are blowing cold winds, causing the weather to cool. The weather will remain the same till March 9, but another western disturbance will be active on the night of 9 March, due to which there is a possibility of rain and snowfall again in the hilly states from 10 to 12 March. Heat in half of the country, rain and snowfall in the second half
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), heat has started increasing in some areas of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Konkan, Karnataka etc. and the temperature has reached 35 to 40 degrees. At the same time, cold winds in some states including Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar have retained cold. The situation is similar to January due to rain and snowfall in the hilly states.
More than 500 roads and transformers are closed in Himachal Pradesh. After March 9, northwestern states like Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar can blow winds at a speed of 30 to 50 kmph, as a new western disturbance is expected to be active on 9 March. Due to this, there may be rain and snowfall in the mountainous states of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand.
Warning of rain and snowfall in these states
According to the Meteorological Department, a western disturbance is active in northern Pakistan and surrounding areas as a cyclonic circulation 3.1 km above sea level. Northeast Assam and its surrounding areas have a state of cyclonic storm at the lower levels. From the night of March 9, a new western disturbance may arise in the western Himalayan region. There is a possibility of rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh on 10 and 11 March due to the effect of both seasonal conditions.
Arunachal Pradesh is expected to receive sporadic light rain/snowfall from 5 to 9 March today. Assam and Meghalaya may also receive light rain. There is a possibility of thunderstorms and lightning in Bihar on March 8. The winds are expected to run at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. On March 7 and 8, there is a possibility of thunderstorms and lightning in sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim. There is a possibility of rain with thunderstorms in Kerala and Mahe.
