Security has been extended after the gathering of monarchy supporters to welcome former King of Nepal Gyanendra Shah at the Vitrabhuvan International Airport located on the outskirts of Nepal’s capital Kathmandu.
Gyanendra is returning from Pokhara to Kathmandu after visiting religious places in different parts of the country.
A large number of security personnel have been deployed in the main entrance and surrounding areas of the airport to prevent any untoward incident.
Hundreds of supporters and supporters of the former Nepal King Gyanendra have gathered around Kathmandu Airport with placards in support of Nepal’s national flag and former King.
Naresh’s supporters have been taking out rally in various parts of the country including Kathmandu and Pokhara for the last few days and are shouting slogans against the current government and demanding restoration of the monarchy system ended in 2008 after the mass movement.
Nepal’s first elected Prime Minister BP Koirala’s granddaughter and famous Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala requested all the Nepalis to gather on her social media account to gather to welcome the former Nepal King at Kathmandu Airport.
The monarchy supporters have become active since democracy day in February. At that time, the former King said in a message, “The time has come for us to take responsibility for protecting the country and bringing national unity.”
