New Delhi. A very important agreement has been reached between Allen Musk’s company SpaceX and Indian telecom company Airtel. Under this, SpaceX is going to start its Starlink service in India. Bharti Airtel is going to start satellite internet facility in India soon through Starlink. Bharti Airtel Managing Director and Vice President Gopal Vittal said about the deal that working with SpaceX is an important milestone in India that Airtel will provide faster satellite internet service to its customers through Starlink services.
Under the deal, Airtel can sell starlink equipment in its stores. Along with this, work will also be done to deliver satellite internet to commercial customers like hospitals, schools, offices and remote areas. Also, SpaceX will help and improve Airtel’s network in India. Although Airtel is already providing satellite internet services in collaboration with Eutelsat Onweeb, after joining Starlinks, coverage will increase in various areas where there was no internet proper facility yet. Also, those who trade in rural areas will get more options for fast internet connectivity.
Together with Airtel and SpaceX, they will also explore the possibilities of how Starlink can cooperate in the expansion of Airtel network. Airtel said that our agreement with SpaceX is a proof of the company’s commitment to provide satellite connectivity for the upcoming generation. This will also ensure that every customer of Airtel has fast and reliable internet service available, no matter where it is. On the other hand, Bharti Airtel’s shares also increased in the stock market. The company’s shares today reached a price of Rs 1676.10 with a rise of 3 percent.
