American prisoner released from Kuwait.
Washington: US President Donald Trump has launched a campaign to return US prisoners in its different countries. Under this, all the prisoners are being brought back to America. Kuwait has also released a group of American prisoners. The prisoners freed by Kuwait include ex -servicemen and military contractors jailed for years in allegations related to narcotics. An official provided this information on Wednesday.
Kuwait’s move is being seen as a sign of goodwill between two associate countries. These prisoners have been released after the recent visit to the region by Adam Bouler, a top envoy in hostage cases of US President Donald Trump administration. The US government is constantly making efforts to bring back its citizens lodged in jails abroad. Six of the prisoners released were Jonathan Franks in a flight from Kuwait to New York.
Franks expressed gratitude
Franks are a private advisor, who looks at cases related to American hostages and prisoners. “My client and his families are grateful to the Kuwait government for this human work,” Franks said in a statement. The names of the prisoners released have not been made public at present. Kuwait is a small but oil -rich country which is bordering the Iraq and Saudi Arabia and near Iran. It is considered a major non-NATO ally of America. (AP)
