On the occasion of Holi, the weather became pleasant in many North Indian states including Delhi and UP. Delhi and Noida received light rain in the evening. At the same time, Rajasthan received rain during the day and hail also fell. Crops suffered a lot due to hail. Himachal Pradesh also received light rain and snowfall on Friday and the Meteorological Department has issued warnings of rain and snowfall in many areas of the state.
Light rain and snowfall were observed in different areas of Himachal Pradesh and the local Meteorological Department on Friday issued a warning of thunderstorms and lightning along with heavy rains or snowfall in six out of 12 districts. There is a possibility of heavy rains or snowfall in different areas of Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi and Shimla districts on Saturday, and heavy snowfall in Lahaul and Spiti districts on Saturday and Sunday.
There is a possibility of rain till Sunday in Himachal
The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in the state till Sunday. From Thursday evening, Gondla received 13 cm, Kukumseri 5.9 cm and Kelong received 4 cm snowfall, while Manali received 7 mm, Kelong 5 mm, Chamba 2 mm and Dalhousie received 1 mm. Hail and thunderstorms were observed respectively in Jot and Bhuntar. Roads may be slippery due to rain and snowfall, visibility may decrease, traffic jams and accidents may occur and essential services may be affected, so the Meteorological Department has advised people to limit external activities, carefully drive, drive adequate security measures and follow the advice of administration.
Rain hail fell in Rajasthan
A Meteorological Department official said that in the last 24 hours, light rain was recorded in some parts of Eastern Rajasthan, while the western part of the state was drought. According to the Meteorological Department, after the rains, the temperature in some areas declined by one to three degrees Celsius. Till 8:30 am today, in the last 24 hours, there was 12 mm in Bharatpur, 9-9 mm in Bayana, Roopwas and Cama, 8 mm in Sikar, Rajgarh (Alwar), Mania (Dholpur) and 7-7 mm in Nadbai (Bharatpur), 6 mm in Bhusawar (Bharatpur) and 5 mm in Seepau (Dholpur).
According to the department, hailstorm was also recorded in many areas including Chaumu, Kotputli-Bahrod and Bansur during this period. In Bharatpur on Thursday evening, due to strong thunderstorms and rain, the power pole fell on the bike riding father and his two sons. Police said the father died on the spot in the accident, while both sons were seriously injured. The accident occurred near the Gudawali turn on the Nadbai-Halena road.
Has damage to crops due to hailstorm
The heavy hailstorm in many areas of Jhunjhunu and Churu districts faded the Holi celebration of farmers. On Friday evening, due to a sudden change of weather, there was hailstorm with heavy rains in the surrounding areas including Malsisar in Jhunjhunu district and several parts of Churu district. The hail, who fell continuously for about 10 minutes, laid white sheets on the fields and roads. Mustard and gram crops have been the most damaged due to hailstorm. Farmers say that their crops were ready for harvesting, but due to hailstorm, standing crops were spread in the fields, which is expected to cause heavy losses. (Input-PTI/ANI)
