Iraq Prime Minister Mohammad Shia al-Sudani said on Friday that the Islamic State chief Abdallah Maxi Masleh al-Rifi was killed during an operation in Iraq. He was also known as “Abu Khadija”.
The campaign was conducted by Iraqi National Intelligence Service and American forces.
Iraq’s Prime Minister Al-Sudani said in a statement on the social media forum ‘X’, “The people of Iraq continue to win their impressive victory in the fight against terrorism.”
The statement said that Abu Khadija was “Deputy Khalifa ‘of the terrorist organization and one of the most dangerous terrorists in Iraq and the world.”
US President Donald Trump said on his social media platform ‘Truth’ on Friday night, “ISIS fugitive fundamentalists were killed in Iraq today. Our courageous warriors discovered and killed him in collaboration with the Iraqi government and Kurdish regional administration.
A security officer said that the campaign was conducted in Anbar, the western province of Iraq. According to another official, the campaign was started on Thursday night but Al-Rifi’s death was confirmed on Friday.
