A big relief has come out on the power generation front in Rajasthan. The mining work has started in the Parsa coal mine of Chhattisgarh with the strong will of the state government and the cooperation of the central government. This will ensure permanent and adequate supply of coal to Rajasthan’s thermal power plants. Energy Minister Hiralal Nagar shared this information on Friday. He said that this is an important step towards providing uninterrupted coal supply to the power stations of the state.
Power crisis background in Rajasthan

Earlier, three mines were allotted in Chhattisgarh by the Ministry of Coal, the Rajasthan State Electricity Generation Corporation Limited (RVUNL), the first of which was coming from the ‘Parsa East and Kanta Basan (PEKB)’ mine. Now the ‘Parsa’ mine has also become active.

This mine has been supplying coal to Rajasthan for a long time.
Coal has been sent regularly from here, but due to increasing demand, it was proving insufficient.
Parsa mine:
Mining started from March 2025.
This will provide additional relief to thermal power plants of Rajasthan.
Kented Extension Block:
Mining has not started yet.
But the state government is constantly talking to the Center and the Government of Chhattisgarh to start it soon.
Energy Minister Nagar expressed confidence that the supply of coal will start in the near future even with Kentay Extension. This will give new energy to power generation in Rajasthan.
