Dehradun. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami instructed the officials during the meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence on Saturday that the entire plan for the upcoming 10 -year financial situation should be prepared in the state. In this long -term scheme, work should be done on economic and social development, environmental protection, effective implementation of schemes using modern technology. He said that the outline of economic development should be prepared to increase the income resources of the upcoming 10 years of state. Work should be done in a planned manner in tourism, pilgrimage, energy, connectivity, industry, agriculture, rural development, education, health, skill development, social welfare and other important areas. Unnecessary expenses should be controlled. He said that by 2047, everyone will have to contribute to fulfill the resolution of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s developed India. A detailed plan should also be made for financial status up to 2047 in the state.
The Chief Minister said that data analytics and research should be used in policy making for better budget management. Suggestions of experts and common people should also be taken in planning. With simplification in government processes, more work should be done towards digital governance. Tax revenue, non-tax revenue, industrial investment, digital tax collection and public-private partnership should be promoted for revenue receipt in the state. It was informed in the meeting that in the financial budget 2024-25, 85 percent revenue has been received against the target. While the revenue expenditure is 90.50 percent. The Chief Minister directed in the meeting that more effective efforts should be made to increase GST coluction in the state. A intensive campaign should be launched to prevent tax evasion. The raid should be taken continuously. More attention should be paid to the use of AI and data analytics. A simple and transparent process should be adopted to file GST.
It was informed in the meeting that since the state establishment, trade tax/VAT/GST coluction has increased by more than 48 times. The coluction has increased from 233 crores to 11289 crores. GST and VAT participation in state tax sources is 62 percent, 05 percent of excise transport, 08 percent of stamp and 05 percent of mining. 848 cases of ITC fraud and 165 fake firms have been identified in the state. A special campaign was carried out to identify fake GST registration in the state, under which 51 GST registration was canceled when their registration was found to be non -present. Principal Secretary R.K. Sudhanshu, R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary Shailesh Bagoli, Dilip Javalkar, Vinay Shankar Pandey, Additional Director General of Police A.P. Anshuman, State Tax Commissioner Dr. Ahmed Iqbal, Vice President MDDA Banshidhar Tiwari and GST Department officials were present.
