New Delhi, March 22 (IANS). In a special conversation with IANS, Delhi government minister Ashish Sood spoke about his plans and government’s priorities on the issues of electricity, water, education and illegal Bangladeshi migrants of Delhi. He admitted that Delhi’s problems cannot be resolved simultaneously, but ensuring uninterrupted un-interped electricity and water supply in the summer season is their first priority. In the field of education, Sood underlined the need to improve poor infrastructure and education level of schools in Delhi. Apart from this, action was also stressed on action against illegal Bangladeshi migrants and the need to work in coordination of officials in the Delhi government.
Ashish Sood said that the solution to Delhi’s problems is not possible in a day or 100 days. He said that it is impossible to solve all the problems of electricity, water and infrastructure in Delhi so soon. However, his government aims to provide uninterrupted uninterrupted electricity and water supply to Delhiites within 100 days, especially in the summer season. This is their priority, because at this time these basic features are highly required.
Talking on the issue of education, Sood said that the condition of Delhi schools is very bad. They allege that the Aam Aadmi Party focused on publicity instead of improving the level of infrastructure and education of schools. Giving the example of a school in Mahavir Enclave, he said that after sending the children to school, only the parents pray to God that their child returns home safely. This is the truth of the education model of the Delhi government, as Sood told.
Regarding the status and infrastructure of computer labs in Delhi schools, Sood said that they need improvement, as children have to prepare for future challenges. He also informed that 44 new schools have been constructed after 2015, but only 19 of these schools got the approval of the government. They believe that it is most important to improve the structure of schools and to prioritize children’s education, not only announcements.
When he was asked about teaching Vedic subjects like Ramayana, Yoga and Vedas in Delhi schools, Sood described yoga education as necessary. He said that children should get taught yoga and spirituality to overcome mental pressure and stress, which should make them physically and mentally empower them.
At the same time, while talking about the role of Volunteers of the Delhi government, Sood said that in the last 25-26 days, the work of those volunteers was affected, and there was no significant change in the condition of the infrastructure of the schools.
On Arvind Kejriwal’s standing in Punjab, Sood said that this is the internal matter of the party, but he also said that when the Chief Minister is working in Punjab, there is a situation of walking behind Bhagwant Mann, which reminds Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh.
On the issue of illegal Bangladeshis, Sood said that Bangladeshis, who have been illegally entered from Delhi, will not be allowed to remain in any case. His government will take action against those who gave these illegal migrants to enter Delhi and helped them.
On the complaint of the ministers not heard by the officials of Delhi, Sood said that the administration’s work is not limited to the officers, but it is a process of coordination. He said that the ministers and officials are working together and are united to improve the administration.
