World Water Day 2025
World Water Day is celebrated every year on 22 March. The purpose of this day is to explain the importance of water. The human body consists of 60 percent water and it is necessary for its daily functioning. Your body loses water through sweating, urine and breath. Since, a lot of water is lost from the body, it is important that you drink water to recreate the level of fluid in the body. Not doing so can cause the body dehydrated which has a bad effect on health. However, there is still a lot of confusion among the people about how much water should be drunk in a day, so let us tell you.
Drink so much water throughout the day:
According to the US National Academy of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, women should drink 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of water every day and men should drink 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of water every day. This includes beverages like water, tea and juice and fluids from food. You get 20 percent water on an average from your food. That is, to keep yourself hydrated, you should drink eight 8 glasses of water every day. This means that you should drink about 2 liters of water daily.
These conditions should increase the amount of water:

Outside temperature: When the outdoor temperature rises, you should adjust your water level. In warm temperatures, you may feel thirsty quickly.
Health and medicines: if you have some health conditions, such as thyroid disease or kidney, liver or heart problems; Or if you are taking medicines that keep you water, such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), opiate pain medicines and some antidepressant, then it is possible to drink too much water.
