Rana Sanga, one of the famous rulers of Mewar, is known as an important and brave warrior in the history of India. He was born in 1484 and was the son of Rana Raymal of Mewar. Rana Sanga’s real name was Sangram Singh. Rana Sanga ruled from 1509 to 1527. The history of Rana Sanga presents the example of valor, courage, and leadership. He strengthened the power of Mewar and participated in many wars. Rana Sanga achieved success in many wars during his lifetime and Mewar gained many prosperity under his leadership.
Battle struggle between Babur and Rana Sanga
Rana Sanga’s most famous struggle was against Babur. Babur established the Sultanate of Delhi in India and his eyes were also on Mewar. Rana Sanga and Babur’s first face to face on 21 February 1527 in Bayana. Babur lost a bad defeat in this. Babur returned to Agra after his defeat. In Babarnama, Babur himself has described this war. After the defeat of Bayana, on March 16, 1527, Rana Sanga and Babur’s armies were re-face to face in the field of Khanwa. Babur fought with cannon and guns in this war, while Rajputs fought war with swords. This war was important in the history of India, as Rana Sanga fought a lot to stop Babur’s empire. Rana Sanga’s eye, one hand, one leg were damaged. There were about 80 wounds in his body. This war turned into a necklace for Rana Sanga, but his valor and courage are still remembered.

Under his rule, Mewar not only got military force, but also from cultural and religious point of view, he enriched the state. The main feature of Rana Sanga was his combative and struggling spirit. His struggles proved that he was not only a dedicated ruler, but also a great warrior. He died in 1528, but his name is still alive as a symbol of valor and courage in Indian history.

Let me tell you that on March 21, Samajwadi Party MP Ramji Lal Suman made controversial remarks in the Rajya Sabha about Rana Sanga, the ruler of Mewar. Ramji Lal Suman called Rana Sanga a ‘traitor’. SP MP Ramji Lal Suman said, “Babar Rana came to India on Sanga’s invitation. This is a historical fact. I was not intention to hurt anyone’s feelings. Every time it is said that the Muslims of India are Babur in the DNA. The Muslims of India consider Muhammad Sahab (Prophet Muhammad) as their ideal and follow the Sufi tradition. Ramji Lal Suman is being opposed since this statement of the SP MP.
