New Delhi. The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the transfer of Allahabad High Court of Delhi High Court Judge Yashwant Verma. Supreme Court Chief Justice Sanjeev Khanna has formed a committee of 3 judges to investigate the cash recovery case from Justice Verma’s house. The collegium had sought the opinion of Chief Justice of Delhi and Allahabad High Court regarding the decision to transfer Justice Verma. Now the transfer of Justice Verma on behalf of the collegium has been recommended to the central government. On the other hand, the transfer of Justice Verma is being opposed by the Allahabad High Court Bar Association. The Bar Association has demanded from the Supreme Court Collegium that the decisions of Justice Yashwant Verma should be reviewed in the Allahabad High Court and the Delhi High Court to re -establish the trust of the public.
The Supreme Court CJI has prohibited Justice Verma’s judicial work. In such a situation, now the question is arising that if the Central Government gets the Allahabad High Court transferring Justice Verma by approving the recommendation of the Supreme Court collegium, will he be able to do judicial work or not? Let us tell you that earlier, Anil Tiwari, President of Allahabad High Court Bar Association, had opposed the news of Justice Verma’s transfer and said whether the Allahabad High Court has become dustbin. He said that with the transfer of Justice Yashwant Verma, transparency of the judicial system here will also come under question. He had also warned that if Justice Verma’s Allahabad High Court transfer is not canceled, a huge movement would be made.
Actually, Justice Verma’s basic High Court is Allahabad, so the collegium has recommended his Allahabad transfer. It is worth noting that in the past, firefighters were called due to a fire in the government bungalow of Justice Yashwant Verma. Justice Verma was not present at the house at that time. After extinguishing the fire, when firefighters were inspecting to take stock of the damage, they found a large number of notes in a room, after which it was revealed.
