New Delhi, 25 March (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Tuesday that the 100 -day intensive TB -free India campaign has prepared a strong basis for ‘TB -free’ India.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in a post on X, “Notable progress is being seen in India’s fight against TB. Union Health Minister JP Nadda has given important information on the recently concluded 100 -day intensive TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, which has prepared a strong basis for TB -free India.”
The Ministry of Health started the 100 -day campaign on 7 December, which concluded on 24 March 2025.
In this campaign, 455 high -priority districts of 33 states/union territories were targeted, which aims to accelerate TB cases, reduce death rate and stop new cases.
JP Nadda said in the article, “The campaign reached every corner of the country and 12.97 crore people of the weaker section were investigated.” He said that 7.19 lakh TB patients were identified due to intensive campaign, out of which 2.85 lakh cases were without symptoms. “
He said that more than 13.46 lakh dilits camps were organized to support the 100 -day ‘TB Mukt’ India campaign. Apart from this, more than 30 thousand elected representatives, corporate partners and common citizens also participated in this campaign.
The Union Minister said, “In addition, more than 4.17 lakh sensitive population was screening and tested at collective places such as jails, mines, tea gardens, construction sites and workplaces.”
Citing public participation, JP Nadda said that ‘more than 21 thousand TB awareness activities were organized on festivals during the campaign period, including all class leaders and community influential people.’
He said, “In just 100 days, 1 lakh 5 thousand 181 newly new friends were nominated, where individuals and organizations provided nutritional assistance to TB affected families.”
Describing the campaign only as a beginning, Nadda said that the country would pursue these efforts at the nationwide level, so that all citizens get the same access to modern diagnosis, quality treatment and unwavering community support.
