दिल्ली के बजट में कुल व्यय 31.5 प्रतिशत बढ़ा, पूंजीगत व्यय दोगुना होकर 28,000 करोड़ रुपये हुआ

New Delhi, 25 March (IANS). The Delhi government on Tuesday made a huge increase of 31.5 percent in the total expenditure in the largest budget ever introduced by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. With this, the state government’s capital expenditure (capex) has doubled to Rs 28,000 crore.

Presenting the budget on the second day of the assembly session, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said, “This time a historic budget of Rs 1 lakh crore is being presented for 2025-26, which is 31.5 percent more than the previous budget. It is an unprecedented and historical budget.”

Rs 2,144 crore has been allocated for the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, which is a health scheme, to benefit the poor in the budget of Delhi government.

As part of the BJP’s election manifesto to empower women, a provision of Rs 5,100 crore has been made in the budget to give Rs 2,500 per month to eligible women for ‘Mahila Samman Yojana’.

In the budget, Rs 1,000 crore has been allocated to improve connectivity in Delhi-NCR.

For the purpose of upliftment of the poor, an allocation of Rs 696 crore has been made for development in slums.

Apart from this, an allocation of Rs 100 crore has been made in FY 2026 to set up 100 Atal canteen in the national capital.

To increase the safety of women, the budget has been targeted to install 50,000 CCTV cameras in Delhi.

The Chief Minister presented the budget of Delhi in the House amid the slogans of ‘Modi-Modi’.

He said that this budget is not only related to the financial health of the government, but is also important about the dreams and aspirations of the people of Delhi.

Giving the example of non -repair of roads, drainage systems and pollution, he targeted the previous Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, saying, “It is unfortunate that in the last 10 years, Delhi has lagged behind in every aspect of development.”

He said, “The days of corruption and disability are over now. The previous government has been like a termite for Delhi’s economy. Delhi Jal Board, DTC and many other government institutions are running in losses.”

CM Rekha Gupta described the situation as a challenge for the new government.
