Doctors at Pope Francis have revealed that at one time they were so close to death that they consider stopping their treatment so that they could pass in a peaceful manner. His medical team revealed that during breathing trouble on February 28, he suffered suffocated due to vomiting. Talking to Reuters, Dr. Sergio Alystri of Jamelli Hospital in Rome said, “There was a lot of risk that they might not escape.”
At the age of 88, the Pope first made a public appearance after being hospitalized on 14 February, when he went to his window in Jamelli and blessed. He appeared after being discharged from the hospital. According to medical professionals, they will require health benefits in Vatican for at least two months.
According to the BBC report, one of the doctors taking care of the Pope, Dr. Alystri said that he had “two very serious episodes” in the last five weeks, during which his “life was in danger”. He said that Francis was never placed on ventilator and he was always conscious and busy. According to doctors, the Pope will return to work as soon as possible, despite the fact that they have not fully recovered from pneumonia.
Presenting for an interview with Italy’s Koriere Dela Sera, Alystri said, “We had to choose if we would stay there and let them go, or move forward and move forward with all medicines and treatments, leading to the biggest risk of damaging their other organs.”
The doctor said, “Eventually, we chose this path.” On 14 February, Francis was brought to the Gameley Hospital after the problem of bronchitis, which later turned into double pneumonia. This was a particularly dangerous situation for him, as he had a pleural problem in puberty and a lung was removed at the age of 21.
