Union Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Reijiju
Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiran Rijiju on Tuesday clarified that the minority communities in India are completely safe and false allegations being spread in this context should be denied. He also said that minority communities will play a big role in nation building.
Union Minister’s statement
Addressing the National Conference of State Minorities Commissions organized by the National Minorities Commission (NCM), Rijiju said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for making India a developed nation by 2047 and the contribution of minority communities should be important in this effort. He said, “Minority communities have played a big role in nation building earlier and they will continue it in future also.”
Indonesia mentioned
Rijiju also mentioned in his speech that he recently met representatives of about 80 countries at the Haj Sammelan held in Saudi Arabia. During this time, an Indonesia minister said that he has the largest population of Muslims in his country. To this, Rijiju said, “I said that when there is a census, the population of Muslims in India may be more than Indonesia, although we do not have its accurate number.”
Are minorities safe in India?
He also informed that the 2021 census could not be conducted due to the Kovid epidemic, so that the confirmation of this figure is not possible yet. The Union Minister also said that minorities in India are safe and the country runs from the Constitution. The Constitution of India guides the country and under this, all citizens get equal rights and security. (input language)
