Islamabad: Four suspects have been arrested for helping the kidnapping of Jafar Express earlier this month in Balochistan, Pakistan. In this incident of Pakistan’s largest train hijack, the kidnappers killed 26 hostages, including 18 security personnel. The restricted separatist organization Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) kidnapped the Jafar Express carrying 440 passengers. 26 hostages lost their lives in this attack.
The next day the Pakistan Army claimed to kill all 33 terrorists and free 354 hostages. However, the BLA claimed that it had also killed a large number of Pakistani soldiers including 214 hostages. There have been several attacks in Balochistan since the train hijack case. According to the report of Don newspaper, sources in the Anti -Terrorism Department (CTD) of Balochistan Police have confirmed the arrests.
Huge amount of weapon recovered
CTD sources said that a joint team of senior officials of various law enforcement agencies is investigating the attack on Jafar Express. “These four suspects have been detained for questioning,” he said efforts are also on to identify the attackers. The remains of the terrorists killed in the attack have been sent to the forensic science agency. Sources said the weapons and communication equipment used by the attackers have been confiscated and sent for forensic analysis. In addition, the fingerprints of the attackers have been sent to the National Database Authority for identification. The kidnapping of the train has also promoted rebel groups in Balochistan and followed by several other small terrorist attacks.
90 Pak soldiers killed in an attack after train hijack
The BLA carried out another major incident after the train hijack, in which he attacked a convoy of buses of Pak soldiers. In this, the BLA claimed to kill 90 Pakistani soldiers. Since then, attacks against Pakistan have been going on continuously. In the last one year, there has been an increase in terrorist attacks in Balochistan. This province, bordering Iran and Afghanistan, is home to a long -running violent rebellion.
