Kolkata, 26 March (IANS). On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), political controversy has arisen over distributing ‘Saugat-e-Modi’ kits to 32 lakh poor Muslim families. The opposition is an attacker on the BJP, calling it a political stunt.
Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary, calling it ‘political move’, has accused the Modi government of helping the Muslim community. He says that this step is an attempt to hide the oppression of minorities, while the government should stand in their favor.
Chaudhary said on Wednesday, “The Modi government is talking about giving gifts to 32 lakh poor Muslims on Eid-ul-Fitr, but this is just a show. Earlier Prime Minister used to organize Iftar parties in Ramadan, but now it has been closed. It is being closed. Efforts are being made to woo Muslims in the name of ‘Modi kits’, while minorities are being tortured in states like Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat.
He insisted that the government should stop harassment of minorities and take concrete steps in their favor.
The Congress has also attacked the central government regarding the Waqf (Amendment) Bill. Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary said that this bill is an attack on the rights of minorities and it is being opposed across the country.
He claimed that five crore proposals have been made against the Parliamentary Committee against it. Never had so many proposals for any bill. This shows that the public is not accepting it. The Modi government has made complete preparations to pass this bill, but the minority community is united against it. This law is a conspiracy to end the autonomy of the Waqf Board. We will not allow it to apply at any cost.
On the occasion of Eid, it has been decided by the BJP Minority Front to deliver the ‘Saugat-e-Modi’ kit to the homes of all the needy Muslims across the country. It is being told that this is a gift of Eid to poor Muslims. Poor Muslims can also celebrate Eid well, so BJP is giving them this kit. There will be essential things in this, using which poor Muslims can celebrate their Eid. This kit will be delivered to 32 lakh houses. The Muslims who are poor, Yatim, Beva, who did the e-shadow of Ramadan, should also have the happiness of Eid in their house, so the BJP has decided to give the ‘Saugat-e-Modi’ kit.
