Lucknow,Under the leadership of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state government has issued a strict order to shut down illegal slaughterhouses and ban the sale of meat within a radius of 500 meters of religious places.
Amrit Abhijat, Principal Secretary, Urban Development Department, has instructed all District Magistrates, Police Commissioners and Municipal Commissioners to immediately close slaughterhouses and implement ban on meat sale near religious places.
Citing the orders issued in the years 2014 and 2017, the Yogi government has clarified that meat sales near illegal animal slaughter and religious places will be completely banned. District level committees have been formed under the chairmanship of the District Magistrates to make this decision effective. These will include officials of Police, Pollution Control Board, Animal Husbandry Department, Transport Department, Labor Department, Health Department and Food Safety Administration.
At the same time, special ban will be applicable on the day of Ram Navami on 6 April, on this day the sale of animal slaughter and meat will be completely closed. Under the provisions of UP Municipal Corporation Act 1959 and Food Safety Act 2006 and 2011, the Yogi government has directed the officials to take strict punitive action against those who violate.
Apart from this, Chief Minister Yogi has instructed to conduct a 24 -hour Sri Ramcharitmanas unbroken recitation in all the districts on the occasion of Mangalmayi occasion of Chaitra Ram Navami. He has said that the Purnahuti of the Akhand Manas recitation starting from 5 April afternoon should be with Surya Tilak of Sri Ramalala at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple at 12 noon on 6 April.
Following the instructions of the Chief Minister, necessary arrangements have been started in all the districts in temples and temples. Reviewing the preparations related to Basantik Navratri and Sri Ramanavami along with senior officials on Saturday, the Chief Minister said that a large number of devotees will arrive in the major Devi temples and Shaktipeeths like Devipatan Temple, Balrampur, Shakumbhri Devi Temple Saharanpur, Vindhyavasini Devi Dham, Mirjapur etc. There is a possibility of arrival of people from all over the country in Ayodhya to see Surya Tilak. In such a situation, all necessary arrangements related to the convenience and safety of the devotees should be made. Jute mating should be done for queuing devotees to stand in strong sunlight. There should be strong arrangements for drinking water in all the temples. Arrangements should be made for chajan.
The Chief Minister directed that on the days of Chaitra Navratri, equally uninterrupted electricity should be supplied in the entire state. He also said that there should not be eggs, meat etc. shops around the temples, as well as ensure that there is no illegal slatering anywhere.
