Navratri, which means in Sanskrit, is dedicated to the worship of ‘nine nights’, Goddess Durga and her nine incarnations, which are collectively called Navadurga. Chaitra Navratri has started today i.e. Sunday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also greeted on the occasion of Navratri festival. He also greeted on the occasion of Hindu New Year (Nav Samvatsar).
Prime Minister Modi posted on X, “Happy Navratri to the countrymen. This holy festival of power-practice should fill everyone’s life with courage, restraint and power. Jai Mata.”
Describing it as a festival of “interview and sadhana”, the Prime Minister shared a hymn of the famous classical singer Pandit Jasraj dedicated to the Goddess. He said, “The beginning of Navratri awakens a new enthusiasm of devotion among the worshipers of the Goddess.
He said, “On the occasion of the new Samvatsar, many wishes to all the countrymen.
Prime Minister Modi also greeted on the occasion of Ugadi, which is Telugu and Kannada New Year celebrated in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka.
The Prime Minister wrote on X, “This is a special festival, which is associated with hope and enthusiasm. I pray that this new year brings happiness, prosperity and success in everyone’s life. The feeling of happiness and harmony kept growing and flourished.”
Hindus celebrate four Navratri throughout the year, but only two- Chaitra Navratri and Sharadiya Navratri- are widely celebrated because they match with seasons change. Navratri in India is celebrated in various forms and traditions.
The nine -day festival, also known as Rama Navratri, ends on the day of Rama Navami, which is the birthday of Lord Rama. Throughout the festival, all nine days are dedicated to the honor of the nine incarnations of Goddess ‘Shakti’. This festival is celebrated with great reverence all over India, in which rituals and prayers are performed to honor the various forms of the Goddess.
A series of special programs will be presented from March 30 to April 6 for Navratri on the Aradhana YouTube channel of All India Radio.
According to the release of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, “To remember the importance of each day, a special series will be shown on the channel from 8 am to 8 pm. In addition, Shakti Aradhana will be broadcast daily from 8:30 am to 8:40 am daily, in which the audience will be given divine presentations.”
A special attraction of the ceremony will be Navratri Bhajan by famous artists like Anoop Jalota, Narinder Chanchal, Jagjit Singh, Hariom Sharan, Mahendra Kapoor and Anuradha Paudwal. These presentations will be broadcast daily from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
The release said, “A unique series ‘many forms of Goddess Maa’, which tells inspiring stories on Navratri, will be broadcast daily from 9:00 am to 9:30 pm.
The Navratri festival will conclude with a grand live program directly from the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, Ayodhya on the Ram Janmotsav. This special broadcast will be held on 6 April from 11:45 am to 12:15 pm, which will bring a divine festival for the audience across the country.
