New Delhi. Earthquake tremors have been felt once again in India. This time the earth started shaking with an earthquake of 4.2 magnitude in Leh, the capital of Union Territory Ladakh. However, there is no news of loss of life and property. According to the National Earthquake Science Center, the epicenter of the earthquake was 10 kilometers below the ground. After a sudden stir in the earth, people came out of their homes in Leh and gathered in the open. Earthquake tremors in Leh have been felt at a time when IIT Kanpur professor Javed Malik has warned that a major earthquake can also occur in India.

According to Professor Javed Malik, apart from the northeast of the country, there is a highest probability of earthquake in states adjoining the Himalayas. All these places are placed in earthquake zone-5. Zone-5 incorporates places where the risk of disastrous earthquake is the highest. On the other hand, due to earthquake in Myanmar, the figures of destruction are increasing day by day. The death toll due to the earthquake has so far increased to 2719, while the number of injured has reached 4521. About 450 people are said to be missing.
The figure of the dead in Myanmar may increase further as the relief work is still not completed. Debris removal work is going on in many places. After the death of thousands of people due to earthquake, Myanmar’s General Min Aung Having declared national mourning till 6 April in the country. At the same time, frequent relief materials are being delivered by India to Myanmar. The help of Indian Air Force aircraft and naval ships is being taken in this work. PM Narendra Modi spoke to General Having of Myanmar and assured him of all possible help.
