Tarn Taran, 3 April (IANS). Government bus employees in Punjab have opened a front against the administration regarding their demands. Under this, employees of Punjab Roadways, Panbas and PRTC have announced to jam the wheel at Tarn Taran bus stand.
During this time no bus of these services will be operated, due to which passengers may face a lot of trouble. The main demand of employees is to make up raw employees and increase salary.
He has warned that if their demands are not met, then from April 7 to April 9, the operation of government buses in the entire Punjab will be completely discontinued.
Officials of the Punjab Roadways Contract Worker Union said that employees have been demanding permanent salary and better salary for a long time. He says that the government gave assurances several times, but no concrete steps have been taken so far.
An employee leader said, “We have been waiting for the last several years. The government only makes promises, but nothing happens on the ground. Now we are forced to take strict steps. 2 -hour wheel jam is a warning, and if the demands are not met, they will take a three -day full strike, which will stagn the bus services in the state.”
During the strike, a crowd of passengers gathered at the Tarn Taran bus stand. Many people had to resort to private means to reach their destination. Employees say that their compulsion should be understood, as they are fighting for their rights. The administration has not yet issued any official statement on the issue.
This strike of employees may have a profound impact on the transport system in Punjab. The union has demanded immediate talks from the government to handle the situation.
