Congress will fight legal battle against Waqf Bill
The Waqf Amendment Bill 2024 has been passed in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Protests are being organized by Muslim organizations across the country against this. On the matter, Congress MP Pramod Tiwari said, “The bill has been passed in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. It is yet to be signed by the President and then it will have to go through a legal battle. We will do what is constitutional. The Amendment Bill passed in Parliament is unconstitutional.” On this bill, Congress leader BK Hariprasad said, “The bill passed in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha only because he has a number. It is completely unconstitutional. The Congress will fight a legal battle against this bill.”
Protests from Ahmedabad to Calcutta
After passing the Waqf Amendment Bill, protests are being organized by different Muslim organizations from Ahmedabad to Calcutta. In Ahmedabad, Muslims demonstrated against this bill. Apart from this, protests are also being organized in other states of the country including Kolkata, Hyderabad. Meanwhile, the police took out a flag march in Jamia area of Delhi today. Explain that in the midst of the possibility of protests against this bill in Delhi, the RPF took out a flag march and a large number of police forces are deployed.
