More risk of social concern by using more smartphones in young women: studies

New Delhi, 6 April (IANS). On Sunday, a research team said that social anxiety is more than other genders who use more smartphones.

The study was presented in the ‘European Psychiatric Association Congress 2025’, in Madrid (Spain). It told how the gender (gender) plays an important role in the excess of smartphone and mental or practical dependence on it. The women are particularly more victims of social anxiety.

Research also found that Gender is directly related to how much time the person spends on the smartphone and how much he is afraid of being considered bad by others online.

Dr. Sibi Sandor, the lead researcher from Rumania’s ‘George Emil Palade University of Medicine’, said, “This result shows that there is a big difference between gender and women are getting mentally affected due to smartphones.”

Research also revealed that the habit of dialogue on social media, lack of understanding of feelings and cooperation from others, all these can be affected by smartphone addiction.

Dr. Sandor said, “It is necessary to do more research on these aspects so that we can understand why this behavior is done in different genders and how they can be helped.”

The study consisted of 400 youth, whose average age was around 26 years. These included 104 men, 293 women and 3 other gender people.

Neha Pirwani, co-writer of research from Atovos Lorend University in Hungary, said, “Our results confirm earlier studies that women are more upset due to smartphone addiction, so they need more attention, guidance and help.”

He also added, “We are working in this direction and deeply so that the cause and impact in the younger generation can be understood and the right steps can be taken.”

EPA President Professor Geert Dom said that about 100 percent of people of generation ji use smartphones.

He further said, “It has already been revealed in many studies that more use of smartphones and social media is associated with dangers like mental troubles, tendency to harm itself and suicide.”

Professor Dom also said that it is important to pay more attention to this subject, so that its loss can be stopped in time.
