New Delhi: Another petition has been filed in the Supreme Court against the Waqf Board amended law. This petition has been filed by Tayyab Khan Salmani and Anjum Qadri, a resident of Uttar Pradesh. The petition sought to declare the law unconstitutional.
First Amanatullah Khan reached the Supreme Court
Earlier on Saturday, Aam Aadmi Party MLA Amanatullah Khan filed a petition in the Supreme Court in protest against the Waqf Bill. Earlier on Friday, two petitions were filed in the Supreme Court, the first was Congress MP Mohammad Javed from Kishanganj in Bihar and the second AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi. At the same time, Congress MP Jairam Ramesh had said that the Congress and we will go to the Supreme Court and along with them the DMK of Tamil Nadu had also asked for a petition against Waqf.
President approves on Saturday
The Waqf (Amendment) Bill was approved by President Draupadi Murmu on Saturday. With this, this bill turned into law. Please tell that this bill was passed this week in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Regarding this bill, the government has claimed that this will help in bringing Sudhar in the condition of poor and pasmanda Muslims of the country and women of this community. The bill in the Lok Sabha was passed late on Wednesday night while in the Rajya Sabha it was passed late Thursday. Along with this, Parliament had approved the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025 and the Muslim Waqf (Relations) Bill, 2024.
Bihar Governor supported the bill
Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan supported the Waqf Amendment Bill passed from the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha and said that Waqf’s properties are considered to be Allah. It should be used for the poor, needy and public interest. Non -Muslims also have equal rights in Waqf’s assets.
