900 car engines stolen from ‘Kia Motors’ plant.
Penukonda: A shocking case has come to light in Sri Sathya Sai district of Andhra Pradesh. About 900 car engines have been stolen from the Penukonda plant of Maujdu southern Korean company ‘Kiya Motors’ here. An official gave information about the incident on Tuesday. On the company’s complaint, the police has started investigating the case of theft. Police officials said the theft was happening for the last five years. The company lodged a police complaint on 19 March. Please tell that the car of ‘Kiya’ is in Sri Sathya Sai district.
Theft started in 2020
Giving information about the case, Deputy Divisional Police Officer of Penukonda Y Venkateswaralu said, “The theft started in the year 2020 and has been continuously since then we will investigate it deeply.” According to Venkateswaralu, the initial investigation confirmed the theft of 900 engines. He said that these engines were stolen either from inside the plant or on the way to reach there. The police suspect that this theft is done in connivance with the employees of the company itself, due to which the investigation has been focused on the former and current employees of the company.
Employees feared to join
Police officer Venkateswaralu said, “It is not a matter of outsiders, all this happened from inside. Even a small part cannot go out without the permission of the company. We are finding out who are involved in this.” Venkateswaralu said that the preliminary inquiry confirmed some flaws and is currently focused on the old employees of the company, although some existing employees have also been involved. In this connection, the police has formed a special team and has also collected several documents and records. However, the company officials could not get an immediate response. (Input-PTI)
