Waqf Amendment Act Implemented: Waqf Amendment Act implemented from today, Central Government issued notification, wakf amendment act com as from into force from today, Central Government Issues Notification

New Delhi. The Waqf Amendment Act has been implemented in the country from today. The central government has issued a notification in this regard. The Ministry of Minority Affairs has said in the notification that the provision of this Act is implemented from 8 April to 2025, using the powers provided by sub -section (2) of Section 1 of the Waqf (Amendment) Act 2025 (14 of 2025). The Modi government had recently passed the Waqf Amendment Bill from the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. After this, President Draupadi Murmu also approved the bill.

On the one hand, the notification has been issued by the Central Government to implement the Waqf Act, on the other hand there is opposition to implementing Waqf Act in all parts of the country. Today, there was a ruckus during a protest against the Waqf Act in Murshidabad, West Bengal. Earlier, there was a fierce demonstration in Manipur, Patna. On the other hand, Muslim organizations and opposition parties have also filed several petitions against the Waqf law and demanded a ban on it. The Supreme Court will hear the petitions filed against the Waqf Act on 16 April. Meanwhile, the Modi government has also filed a cavity in the apex court today. In the cavite petition, the Central Government has requested the Supreme Court not to pass any unilateral order without hearing our side on the petitions related to Waqf.

The central government says that due to the amendment in the Waqf, it will be decided with transparency. Poor Muslims who have been deprived of their rights for years will get their rights back. Waqf properties will be used in the upliftment of poor Muslims. Whereas the opposition and many Muslim organizations, including the Congress, believe that the government wants to take away their rights from Muslims by amending the Waqf.
