The prices of domestic gas cylinders have increased again. The central government has increased the price of cylinders by ₹ 50 since 8 April 2025. These new prices have come into force with immediate effect. In such a situation, the common man’s pocket will be directly affected. 🧑 Ujjwala scheme also increased burden
The price of the cylinder received under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala scheme has also been increased. Earlier, where Ujjwala beneficiaries were getting cylinders for ₹ 500, now ₹ 550 will have to be paid for it.
📅 When did the prices of cylinders increase last time?
In March 2023, the central government had increased the price of gas to ₹ 1103.
Earlier, prices were increased by 10 times between 1 June 2021 to 1 March 2023.
However, there was also a cut of ₹ 100 once in between.
🗣️ What did Petroleum Minister say?
Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has confirmed that the prices of gas cylinders have been increased by ₹ 50. This step has been taken keeping in mind the cost of oil companies and crude oil prices in the international market.
