BJP and AIADMK alliance in Tamil Nadu.
The Bharatiya Janata Party and AIADMK i.e. AIADMK will contest the upcoming Tamil Nadu assembly elections together. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has announced this on Friday. Announcing this, Amit Shah has said that the NDA government will be formed again in Tamil Nadu. The NDA will win with a strong majority in the assembly elections. He has said that NDA will contest elections under the leadership of Palanisamy.
Amit Shah told the formula of alliance
Amit Shah and Palaniswami were present on the stage at the joint press conference of BJP and AIADMK. Amit Shah said- “Today AIADMK and BJP have decided that the upcoming election, AIADMK and the rest of the parties will fight together under NDA. It will be fought at the national level under the leadership of PM Modi and in the state under the leadership of Palaniswamy. AIADMK’s leadership and BJP’s regional leadership will decide the number of seats and the government will decide by discussing both parties. “
Amit Shah further said- “DMK is raising issues like Sanatan Dharma, Language Policy in Tamil Nadu to divert attention from basic issues. The people in Tamil Nadu will vote against corruption, law and order, atrocities on Dalits and women.”
Why BJP and AIADMK came together?
Actually, assembly elections will be held in Tamil Nadu in 2026. There is an alliance of DMK and Congress in Tamil Nadu. In such a situation, the BJP was also looking for a strong coalition partner in the state. This is the reason that talks were going on between BJP and AIADMK for the past several days. Recently Palaniswami met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi.
How much will the BJP benefit from the alliance?
BJP and AIADMK contested the assembly elections simultaneously in the year 2021. 4 BJP MLAs won elections. However, the BJP and AIADMK alliance broke before the Lok Sabha elections 2024. Both BJP and AIADMK could not win a single Lok Sabha seat in this election. At the same time, DMK and Congress alliance won a big victory in the election. However, if we talk about vote share, BJP’s vote percentage in Tamil Nadu was around 11.24% and AIADMK alliance was about 20.46% in the Lok Sabha elections. At the same time, DMK alone received 26.93% votes. In such a situation, the BJP can benefit from an alliance with AIADMK for the assembly elections.
