A 70 -year -old man was killed in a firing at a farewell ceremony in Gahlawara village of Kakori police station area. The police gave this information on Thursday. According to officials, the incident took place on April 16 at around 9 pm during a ceremony held at Chandu’s son Nadir’s house. The ceremony was held to farewell to his daughter. About 40 to 50 people of the daughter’s in -laws had gathered from Kakori Mor area to attend the ceremony. During the ceremony, bullets were fired in the air, one of which was shot by Chandu’s elder brother Shamsher alias Shera (70) son Hashim. Shamsher was returning after offering Namaz, when a stray bullet hit him.
He died before reaching the hospital. Based on the statements of preliminary investigation and eyewitnesses, the police have registered a case against unknown persons under the relevant legal provisions. After completing the standard Panchayatanama process, the body was sent for postmortem. On 17 April, the police identified the accused as Imran, 25 -year -old son of Jabbar, resident of Kakori Mor in Para police station area. He had allegedly come to attend the program from the in -laws’ side. Imran was detained based on electronic and physical evidence as well as testimony of witnesses. In another case on 3 April, the death of a person named Sagar, missing from Tilak Nagar in the national capital, was confirmed in Shamli, Uttar Pradesh, after which Delhi and Uttar Pradesh Police conducted a thorough investigation into the case.
