Stanlo, 25 April (IANS). Essar Energy Transition (EET) has congratulated the Government of ENI and UK on receiving financial assistance on the main carbon transport and storage project of the Highnet Industrial Cluster (The Liverpool Bay CCS).
The company said, “We are happy that the construction phase of ENI will now start on the infrastructure that enabling highnets. It is important to reduce carbon emissions and enable very important investment, protect and increase jobs and industries in North Western England and North Wales.”
EET’s hydrogen production plant (HPP 1) project is one of the four initial projects, which will provide carbon to this infrastructure for permanent storage. HPP 1 is expected to be the UK’s first massive carbon hydrogen production plant with a capacity of 350 mW and will capture about 6,00,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide per year, which is equivalent to removing 1,25,000 cars from the road.
EET’s Stanlo Manufacturing Complex is located in the center of the highnet, operated by the refinery of EET fuels. It is a major offtech and competent of HPP1.
EET projects supported by the announcement are converting Stanlo into a world-leading energy transition center, which can capture about 2 million tons of carbon from the refinery through its comprehensive dearbonization program, including electrification and carbon capture, as well as further hydrogen production plant (HPP 2) and continuous fabrication fan (SAF).
Stanlo is also expected to play an important role in other low carbon, high -tech businesses from local hydrogen production and carbon infrastructure.
