Mumbai, 25 April (IANS). Despite the global uncertainties, India’s equity market demonstrated strong and maintained a good situation amidst the changes due to trade-tariffs worldwide. This information was given in a report released on Friday.
In March, BSE 500 gained 6.25 percent, which was the best monthly performance in 15 months. This indicates that most of the market excess is probably cured.
According to the report of PL Capital Group (Prabhudas Liladhar) Asset Management Branch PL Asset Management, India’s macro fundamentals remain strong. The GDP growth in FY 2025 from strong domestic consumption, capital expenditure and manufacturing apostles is estimated to be 6.5 percent.
Manufacturing PMI increased to 58.1 in March, the highest level of eight months. Whereas, in January, industrial production increased by 5 percent on an annual basis.
The re-emergence of the US-China trade tension in April 2025 has affected the global indices, reminiscent of the last-seen market behavior during the 2018 trade war.
Whereas, indices such as S&P 500 and Nasdaq fell to 13 percent and 11 percent respectively, India’s Nifty remained 50 relatively strong, which fell only 3 percent.
The report stated, “The possibility of spreading high risk factors is almost over, it is a point that historically the markets have entered a recovery phase. In recent months, the quality factor went down and now we are looking at the initial signs of coming back to the price.”
Momentum’s dominance has faded rapidly, as investors are focusing on low instability. The better performance of the smallcap is reduced and with the return to largecap, it reflects the priority of the market for size and stability.
This shows that the market is preparing itself for a recovery phase.
“The recent trend in early 2025 shows a slight increase in shares close to its lower level shares, which indicate caution among investors amidst probable uncertainties or reforms,” the report states the report.
