Mumbai, April 27 (IANS). Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Chaudhary met Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in Mumbai on Saturday and expressed satisfaction with the security measures taken by the Maharashtra government for the residents of Jammu and Kashmir.
Deputy Chief Minister Chaudhary interacted with students, professionals and traders studying in Maharashtra and raised confidence in their safety. In this meeting, Chaudhary highlighted the importance of security of the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir living in Maharashtra and requested Eknath Shinde to take all necessary steps for his welfare.
Reacting to this, Eknath Shinde assured full cooperation and said that the Government of Maharashtra and the people of Maharashtra have a deep relationship with the people of Jammu and Kashmir and we are committed to their safety.
According to the instructions of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Deputy Chief Minister Chaudhary met students, private sector employees and professionals separately and inquired about their safety and welfare. He also met senior police officers.
Chaudhary once again said that the security of the residents of Jammu and Kashmir is the top priority of the government. “We will try to the end to protect our people,” he said.
Chaudhary said, “The Omar Abdullah government is always concerned about the welfare of its people and is fully committed to their safety.”
He advised the students and other residents to contact the official helpline numbers broadcast by the administration for any assistance.
It is noteworthy that on April 22, terrorists opened fire on unarmed tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. 26 people died and many were injured in this attack. Protests are being seen across the country over the terrorist attack. At the same time, the government of all states is paying special attention to the security system of its citizens.
