Jan Suraj Party founder Prashant Kishore announced on Sunday that the signature campaign against the Nitish Kumar government in Bihar will be launched next month from the ancestral village of the Chief Minister.
The announcement was made at a press conference in Harnaut assembly constituency of Nalanda district, from where the JD (U) president started his political career in the 1980s. Kishore said, “We often hear that even though Nitish Kumar has not done much for the state, he has developed in his home district. To break this myth, we have decided to start our signature campaign from Kalyan Bigha on 11 May.”
The former election strategist said, “Everyone should know what is the situation in Kumar’s own village. We will highlight their government’s failure in fulfilling promises like financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh to poor families. CM has told the assembly that there are 94 lakh families across the state which are eligible for such help. But, it seems that it seems that this promise is a matter of paying 15 lakh rupees to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
Kishore said that his party would highlight the other alleged failures of the state government, including the promise of “two decimal land for agricultural Dalits” and “heavy corruption in the Land Survey going on the land survey”. He said, “The Chief Minister, who has been in power for two decades, will be interesting to find out the reality behind so -called achievements in his own village.”
The founder of an IPAC, who worked as a national vice -president in JD (U), was also asked about threats by senior party leader and minister Ashok Chaudhary to file a defamation suit. Chaudhary, who is an important colleague of CM, has threatened to file a case for the Kishore to accuse him that he has “bought” a ticket for Lok Sabha MP from Samastipur, his daughter Shambhavi.
Shambhavi was described by the Prime Minister as “the youngest candidate of NDA” during the elections. He contested as a candidate for Union Minister Chirag Paswan’s party Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas). Kishore claimed, “He (Chaudhary) can file as many cases on me … I and his daughter I have said about him and his daughter is generally discussed in Bihar.”
