Independent Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal on Sunday requested political parties to urge the government to call a special session of Parliament as soon as possible in view of the Pahalgam terror attack.
Sibal said, “On April 25, I suggested that a special session of Parliament should be called to show the unity of the country in this hour of grief.”
He said, “I request all political parties to urge the government to call such a session as soon as possible in May.”
Sibal on Friday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to call a special session of Parliament and pass the resolution condemning the Pahalgam terror attack to give a message to the world that the country is united.
Sibal also suggested the government to send delegations of ruling and opposition MPs to various important countries to create diplomatic pressure on Pakistan.
Addressing a press conference, the former Union Minister suggested that the way the US imposes a ban, India should also say to all the major countries having business relations with Pakistan that if they have business with Islamabad, they cannot come to the Indian market.
On Thursday, leaders of various parties called for “decisive action” against terrorism and terrorist camps and assured the government to give their full support.
During the all -party meeting organized to discuss the Pahalgam attack, the government said that it was taking all steps to ensure security and assured the leaders to take action against terrorism and its supporters.
