In Cuttack, Odisha, the police succeeded in catching the accused after hard work in solving a murder case. The woman’s husband and two brothers have been arrested in this case, who carried out the heinous murder due to family dispute. Police reached the accused through UPI payment and a tailor receipt in the murder case.
Description of the incident: The body of a woman was found on the banks of the Kathjodi River in Kandarpur area of Cuttack on the morning of 13 December. After finding the dead body, Kandarpur Police Station and ACP reached the spot and started the investigation with the help of forensic team and dog squad. The police also recovered the chap used in the murder. Initial investigation revealed that “Baba Ballia Mata” and “father KPSM” on both hands of the woman. Like there were tattoos, but it could not be identified.
Important clues found in the investigation: Police searched the CCTV cameras installed in the area and received a missing report from nearby police stations. The investigation found a blood -linen shirt and pants near the spot, which had a tailor receipt called “New Star Tailors”. The police took action on this clue and approached the names of this name in Odisha, but no concrete information was found. Then a person reported on WhatsApp that this could be done in Bhanjanagar in Ganjam district.
Information received from the receipt of the tailor: The police immediately informed the Bhanjanagar police station in Ganjam district and asked the SDPO to locate the shop. During the investigation, the IIC of Jagannathprasad police station in Ganjam district discovered the shop, but the receipt was not matched there either. However, the tailor reported that such a receipt design is used in Gujarat. This information gave the police further direction, as the tailor said that he had worked in Gujarat and was familiar with the receipt design there.
Identification from mobile number: On checking the number “3833” recorded on the receipt, the police found a customer named “Babu”. On contacting this number, the police identified the real identity of “Babu” as Jagannath Duhari (27), a resident of Kendrapara district. When the police investigated him, it was found that he was traveling in a train going to Surat. After informing the Raigadha police, the police arrested him near Muniguda station.
The reason for the murder and the arrest: During interrogation, it was revealed that the woman was Jagannath’s sister -in -law. He along with his brother Balaram Duhri and Hapi Duhri murdered. The reason for the murder was a family dispute. Balaram suspected his wife’s character, and that is why he took this dreadful step. Balaram was also arrested with the help of Kendrapara police.
Police action: The police have arrested the three accused in this case, and further investigation is on. The police exposed this heinous crime using important clues like UPI payment and tailor receipt. This incident proved that the criminals can be reached only by the accuracy of technical investigation and evidence. The police is now taking further legal action in the case.
