According to beliefs, Lord Parashurama is considered the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Parashurama is mentioned in Ramayana, Brahmavaivarta Purana and Kalki Purana etc. Lord Parshuram was born in the house of Mother Renuka and Rishi Jamadagni. Despite being a sage, he was also a skilled warrior, his weapon was called ‘Farsa’. However, even today his statue is buried in ‘Tanginath Dham’ located in Gumla district of Jharkhand and this place is about 150 km from Ranchi. Is located at a distance.
According to mythological beliefs, Tanginath Dham was the penance of Lord Parashurama, where he worshiped Lord Shiva. The size of this tile also resembles the trident of Lord Shiva. This is the reason that devotees worship that stone as the trident of Lord Shiva.
Legendary story related to Tanginath Dham
In the Treta Yuga, Lord Rama broke Shiva’s Pinak bow in the swayamvar of Sita, the daughter of King Janaka. After which Mother Sita chose her groom. When Parashuram came to know about Shri Ram’s breaking the bow of Shiva, he became very angry and after that he reached the swayamvar venue. Where Lord Parashurama was debated with Lakshmana. But, in the meantime, when Parashurama came to know that Lord Shri Ram is also an incarnation of Narayan, he felt very embarrassed and immediately apologized to Lord Shri Ram. Ashamed, he left from there and took refuge in a mountain range located between the dense forests. Here, he established Lord Shiva and started severe penance and during this time he buried his Parshu i.e. Farsa in the ground.
Temple carving is very amazing
The ancient temple of Tanginath Dham is now completely destroyed due to lack of maintenance. This area, once a major center of faith and art, has now turned into ruins. Although the temple is no longer left, the ancient Shivling can still be seen scattered on this hill. The ancient artifacts, carving and architectural style here indicate that this place may be related to the Devakal or Treta Yuga.
According to local beliefs, Lord Shiva has a deep connection with this region. According to a legend, Shiva became angry when Shani Dev committed a crime and threw his trident. The trident is sunk on the top of this hill. The surprising thing is that the tip of the trident still appears above the ground, but no one knows how deep it is in the ground. The historical and religious significance of this place is very deep, but due to lack of protection, this heritage is gradually being destroyed.
